Acoustic attenuation in magnetic insulator films: effects of magnon polaron formation
نویسندگان
چکیده
A magnon and a phonon are the quanta of spin wave lattice wave, respectively, they can hybridize into polaron when their frequencies wavenumbers match close enough values at exceptional point. Guided by an analytically calculated dispersion, dynamical phase-field simulations performed to investigate effects formation on attenuation bulk acoustic in magnetic insulator film. It is shown that stronger magnon-phonon coupling leads larger attenuation. The also demonstrate existence minimum interaction time required for formation, which found decrease with magnetoelastic coefficient but increase damping coefficient. These results deepen understanding mechanisms crystals provide insights design new-concept interconnects operate based acoustically driven propagation.

متن کاملMagnon spectrum of the helimagnetic insulator Cu2OSeO3.
Complex low-temperature-ordered states in chiral magnets are typically governed by a competition between multiple magnetic interactions. The chiral-lattice multiferroic Cu2OSeO3 became the first insulating helimagnetic material in which a long-range order of topologically stable spin vortices known as skyrmions was established. Here we employ state-of-the-art inelastic neutron scattering to com...

متن کاملQuantum transport in magnetic topological insulator thin films.
The experimental observation of the long-sought quantum anomalous Hall effect was recently reported in magnetically doped topological insulator thin films [Chang et al., Science 340, 167 (2013)]. An intriguing observation is a rapid decrease from the quantized plateau in the Hall conductance, accompanied by a peak in the longitudinal conductance as a function of the gate voltage. Here, we prese...
متن کاملVisualizing ferromagnetic domain behavior of magnetic topological insulator thin films
A systematic magnetic force microscopy (MFM) study of domain behavior in thin films of the magnetic topological insulator Sb1.89V0.11Te3 reveals that in the virgin domain state, after zero-field cooling, an equal population of up and down domains occurs. Interestingly, the cooling field dependence of MFM images demonstrates that a small cooling magnetic field (approximately 5–10 Oe) is sufficie...
